Finally managed to upload all my moscow pics :)
Like many others before I visited this country, I’ve totally no idea where the hell this place is.
As much as I don’t wanna look bimbo-ic, I don’t wan my pals to be too. What’s the point of visiting a place, post many pics on the blog but don’t even know the slightest bit about the it? Only bimbos do that.
And so I did a little background study about this “weird” city.
Moscow is the largest city and the capital of Russia. Oh ya, for years I thought China was the biggest country in the world ( I know, some of you are guilty of that too ya? Nvm, we learn)…No No no…it’s Russia. Kid you not.
The city has rich and varied heritage, a heritage that vastly predates the era of Soviet rule. Most buildings are almost “untouched” and churches can be seen scattered in every corners of the city.
This is the red square...
It is like the city’s most famous landmark la! As the oldest square of Moscow, there are countless stories behind it. I love its structure. I just have this thing for buildings. hee...
That day, a group of us batted the cold weather just to see this historical building, and guess what? It was close, and so we only managed to take some pics from the outside. The weather in that place is “weird” too, temperature changes like 3 times everyday, and in like 3 days it can change like from 9 degrees to 23 degrees, how can anyone escape from the sick bug in this weather? Not me of course. It doesn’t help with the extreme dry condition. :(
Pic taken from the outside...
Besides, the red square my favourite will be the St. Basil Cathedral , which was built on the edge of Red Square between 1555 and 1561.
I call it the church that look like a mosque.
The church's design is based on deep religious symbolism and was meant to be an architectural representation of the New Jerusalem. Pretty ya?

Some random pics...

Shall end this entry with my opinion of this country...After spending like 4 days there??
This place only opened up in recent years for tourists. Most people speak little English and a large portion of the country speaks only Russian. Communication is a problem and the people are rude, when they don’t understand you. Much worst then the Chinese I would say.
Food is expensive ( my plate of salad cost 30+sg, and mind you, it was at some fast food outlet) and sucky. The people only uses their own currency (rubbles) when I can’t find any where except in their own country, to add on to that, the money changers only accept US dollars.
As much I like the rich heritage of the city, you can’t blame me for saying that these Russian people is “living in their own world”.
As a tourist, I wouldn’t want to be there again. Despite the wealth of the country, I guess something has to be done if they really want to attract people there. Thinking back, you can’t blame me for not knowing the existence of this place before this.
